Hiking & Walking

Enjoy adventure right from the doorstep – and take in some of the most beautiful landscapes and scenic walks in the Peak District

It’s not surprising that the Peak District is one of the UK’s most popular walking destinations. Whether you’re looking for a challenging trek, a well-worn walk along the High Peak, Monsal or Tissington Trails or a gentle circular stroll, there really is something for everyone – from absolute beginners to seasoned hikers.

Our own unique location offers walks right from the front door, including hikes to nearby Lud’s Church and the Roaches.

This is our favorite walk from Gradbach to Danebridge where you'll find the Wincle Brewery right by the river! (we're the old YHA!)

Alternatively, take a look at this recommended walk from The AA, a 6.8-mile route onto the Roaches which enjoys some stunning woodland and moorland scenery.

There is also a fantastic selection of local Peak District walks thanks to our friends at Visit Peak District, from sedate two-mile strolls to longer rambles over beautiful Derbyshire countryside.

With its large group accommodation for up to 45 people, The Mill and The Farmhouse at Gradbach is the perfect base for a Peak District walking holiday. 01260 227000.
