The historic spa town of Buxton is also home to the annual Buxton Opera Festival and Festival Fringe, a full programme of opera, theatre, comedy, music and performance and one of the largest of its kind in the country.
The stately homes of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall are within easy driving distance of Gradbach, while sweet-toothed visitors can take a trip to the pretty Derbyshire town of Bakewell, home of the world famous pudding.
